The Government has provided a $15m supplementary fund for VWOs in the healthcare and social service sector. This was announced during the Budget Speech. All healthcare programmes by VWOs could apply to MOH directly for this supplementary fund. The details are available on MOH's website.
Social service VWOs funded by MCYS and/or NCSS were provided with one-off additional funding tiered according to the level of MCYS/NCSS funding they currently receive. No application is necessary for this first tier of supplementary funding. MCYS/NCSS Funded VWOs’ programmes were informed of the amount under this first tier in the FY09/10 Fund Allocation letters.
VWOs that still need extra resources on top of this first tier funding could apply for additional funds by filling in the application form for second tier funding.
The deadline for application was 30 June 2009. The Supplementary Fund had been closed for applications .
A committee chaired by CEO NCSS and Director, Social Sector Planning Unit (MCYS) had evaluated the applications for the second tier funding. Applicants had been informed on the outcome of their applications.
